Oriole Park at Camden Yards in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, has been the home of Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles since 1992. The previous stadium at Camden Yards was razed in 1989, and the new Oriole Park at Camden Yards took less than three years to be constructed. The area of Camden Yards in Baltimore was once a railroad center, but is now better known as the place where one of baseball’s most beloved teams comes to play.

In addition to having its own baseball legacy, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is just two blocks from the birthplace of the legendary baseball slugger, Babe Ruth. Ruth’s father had been manager of Ruth’s Café, originally housed in the first floor of the Ruth family’s home on Conway Street and Little Paca, which now happens to be the location of centerfield at Oriole Park.

When the Orioles are in town, fans flock to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which can hold close to 49,000 people. Although it was built as a modern-day baseball facility, Oriole Park at Camden Yards also pays homage with its sloped brick facade to some of the more traditional ball parks built in the early 1900s, such as Fenway Park in Boston, MA, Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, NY, and Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL.
